FIS Solo Performing Arts

FIS is a small-scale festival dedicated to solo worksl, circus, dance, theatre, and music, that happends inside the theatre and uses different spaces according to what each piece requires. It runs from 2015 to 2025, with the 2025 edition bringing the cycle to a close.

We curate each edition as a team, paying attention to working conditions and to how each piece inhabits the theatre. We look for works that take risks and foster real proximity between artist and audience; we shape the whole to the context of each year and hold diverse perspectives on the stage.

Within the curatorial team I am responsible for circus. I stay in conversation with companies, identify needs, and weigh possibilities. I attend fairs, see shows, and open contact with artists; together with the rest of the team I coordinate requirements and calendars, aligning riders with the capacities of each space so every piece finds its place in the theatre.

During the festival I work on the floor: I support load-ins and load-outs, coordinate logistics with the team, and when needed I operate a show. I also review or translate presentation texts so information is clear and consistent with the festival as a whole. The aim is simple: for everything to run in good conditions and for circus, like the other areas, to have a well-cared-for place.
